I had a crab plate that took about an hour to eat...it was great.Dale says it is only fair that I mention that he stopped after two beers and I got to have four long island iced teas. we are back at the cabin now, safe and sound

we didn't rent the boat, weather was iffy. Waited all afternoon then decided to go have supper at the marina. Now we'll be here for a while until the storm passes. It's all good though they have food, booze and tonight is karaoke night:)

At the cabin

This is so you can see the trailer, makes the winding roads a little more difficult to navigate.

We rode up to the top of Mt. Mitchell, the 4th highest in the US. We saw lots of people riding bicycles up there and thought of Kathy and Jim. It was really foggy about half way up so I took the picture of the Greybeard lookout :) We took 80 to get off the parkway and head to our cabin and ended up on a VERY winding road. I hope my battery lasts long enough for it to download.

White water rafting in Tennessee

Rafting on the Upper Pigeon River in Tennesee. We had a great time. Tomorrow we leave for North Carolina, rain is predicted to say a prayer to the sun gods for us :)

Smoky Mountains

We arrived in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee yesterday afternoon. It was about 90. On the ride in we had to take a detour and I have never seen so many second hand stores! I was thinking this would be sort of like Yellowstone, silly me. Just miles of "attractions" souvenir shops and outlet malls. I was a little disappointed last night but today we took a ride in the actual Smoky Mountains and it is all better. I love the lawn art you see on the back roads; Ford, Chevy etc...
On our way here I saw what I assume is kudzu, I've read about it and it just grows all over everything, signs, fences, up trees. We are taking a cool off break and need to decide on which show to see tonight.
